Painswick

The Painswick area is a community within Barrie, consisting of older and newer build homes, condominiums, commercial buildings, and retirement residences.
This area is perfect for residents of all ages, as it offers many valuable conveniences that appeal equally to young professionals, families, and seniors.

The Painswick area borders Innisfil, and runs to Minet’s Point, a beautiful spot right at the lakeshore of Lake Simcoe. This community has so much to offer, with the Big Bay Point commercial area featuring grocery stores, restaurants, fast food, LCBO, and many small shops.
A highlight of the Painswick area is the GO station, with trains and buses running South to Toronto, making it an ideal location for commuters, and those who value a quick trip down to the city to catch a game or show.

There are many parks and playgrounds in the area, including Golden Meadow Park, and Painswick park which has a baseball diamond and tennis court. If you’re looking for beaches, there are some sandy beaches with great features at Tyndale Park (beach volleyball), Wilkins Parkette (nice walking trails) and Minets Point (boat launch).
Indoor activity is available at the Allandale Recreation Centre- a wonderful facility within this community, offering many services to the residents, including swimming, skating, fitness centre, and meeting/activity rooms. This rink is home to many established figure skaters!

Another wonderful spot in this neighbourhood is the Painswick branch of the Barrie Public Library. A beautiful, modern structure, with activity rooms, meeting rooms, a children’s centre, programs for residents of all ages, and of course tons of books and other resources.

When looking for places of worship in the area, there are many options including Anglican, Jehova’s witness, United and more.

There are many schools in the Painswick community, providing both Catholic and Public education, for Elementary and Secondary students. There is also a French elementary school located on Madelaine drive for francophone families. Some of these schools include, Mapleview Heights PS, Willow Landing ES, Saint Peter’s, Saint Michaels the Archangel. There are many daycare facilities located within the area, as well, providing both full time and before/after school care.

This area is full of places to grab a quick bite, as well as great spots to sit down and enjoy a nice meal, such as Scotty’s, Barnstormer Brewing, Cicco’s for Italian food, and Urban Dish for fine dining.

The Painswick Community of Barrie is a beautiful area set up perfectly for residents of all ages, featuring green spaces, activities, and all the daily conveniences required to make it an ideal place to live.
