Built in the mid 1980’s, this community is located in Barrie’s Northwest end, adjacent to Springwater Township and the Edgehill Drive community of Barrie. Many streets in the area have been named after different authors:
- Leacock (which is also the main road within the community itself)
Several styles of housing can be found here, such as:
- One (1) Castle – Also known as Lount’s Castle
Lount’s Castle is located at 25 Valley Drive. The original owner (Dr. Llwellyn Oliver) was the son to the found of the Northern Advance Newspaper. Dr. Oliver was one of the original coroners for Simcoe County and the physician to the County jail.
Home to Lampoon Lane Park, which includes one of Barrie’s largest splash pads for children. Adjacent to Lampoon Lane Community Centre and includes outdoor tennis courts, soccer pitch and a baseball diamond.
Letitia Heights Plaza is also home to the community. It includes several shops and amenities, like a restaurant, dentist, veterinary, coffee shop, convenience store, a pub and many more. Also located in the community is Barrie’s landfill; just north of Edgehill Drive off of Ferndale Drive and adjacent to Barrie’s frisbee golf course.
